Author Melissa Ann Argay is proud to announce the second release of “A Day in the Life of Francis” a delightfully enchanting rhyme and picture book and educational CD-ROM. Melissa Ann’s “A Day in the life of Francis” is a playful book that will delight children of all ages. Francis a gentle Japanese Chin will guide your child through a day of visual wonderment while introducing them to very important life lessons. This multimedia production features a real life character whose childlike innocence inspired her to share him with the world. Meet Francis the seven year old pup is a Japanese Chin , a breed of dog descended from Japanese Royalty . Chins were introduced by the explorer Kempler and the breed soon became a favorite among European royalty. Francis came into Melissa Ann’s life when she rescued Francis from a shelter in 1993.
Melissa Ann understands the innate connection that exists between children and animals, especially dogs. The Maplewood, NY native wanted to encourage young children to form a healthy respect for others, learn good manners and habits like proper nutrition, good hygiene and how important the simple things in life are. She realized Francis with his child-like qualities would be the perfect way to convey that message to two- six year olds.
“A Day in the Life of Francis” features depictions of “Sir” Francis sharing his lesson of caring and sharing; listening and learning all presented in rhyme and colorful pictures. Melissa Ann created a “A Day in the Life of Francis” using photography, illustrations, graphic and 3D design software.
THE CANINE SAGE
“A Day in the life of Francis” wouldn’t be possible without the inspiration of Francis Alexander Argay. This furry bundle of joy was adopted into the Argay family in 1993. Francis is a rare breed of dog descended from Japanese Royalty. Nicknamed Scoops, “Sir” Francis was named after St. Francis of Assisi. Besides playing with children –his favorite pastime is running in circles. Francis’s favorite snacks are peppers and oranges. He’s a huge fan of Scooby-Doo!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Melissa Ann Argay, is the author of the children’s book “ A Day in the Life of Francis”. She is also a published photographer and holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Albany. She is descended from a diverse cultural heritage and was raised in a loving household filled with old-Armenian traditions. Melissa Ann brings to her writing a unique background of graphic design, photography and publishing. She has been published regionally and nationally and has had the opportunity to work with numerous families, children, schools and businesses. Melissa Ann believes that a formal education is an important part of one’s life experience and has always been captivated by world cultures, life mysteries, law, and international relations. This rich background further strengthens the authors belief in the common thread we all share on this fragile planet, and that we should treat each other with the love and respect that comes with that bond.
